   *Count Bois: aka Gerald Bois, current sovereign of Boisnoir County. A human in his late forties with one wife, one concubar, and four children. An overworked, yet fair ruler. Like his father before him, he doesn't really think his fiefdom qualifies as a “kingdom”.

   *Margaret "Margie" Butterworks: Human female, age 20.  Enlisted in Count Bois guard as soon as she was old enough, as life in her parents' buttery was absolutely frustrating.  A dependable, solidly built woman who knows when to Pay Attention.
   *Rinceling the Arch-mage: Human male, age unknown.  From one of those Asterian complicated non-element focused schools.  Has an oversized tower just outside the old town walls.
