   *Sandshimmer Tribe: Occupies the northern areas between Atan, the wastes, and the desert.  Ventures the deepest into the Great EastFyre Desert, and tries to avoid the Starfallen Wastes.  Sandshimmer was least affected culturally by the last Mongrel invasion.
   *Dawnstar Tribe: Typically furthest east.  Also tends to venture into the Great EastFyre Desert somewhat. Gets travelers along the Road of Silken Blades to or from the Wall of Han.  Dawnstar tribesmen have fewer identifying features when compared to their brethren, as they had to heavily intermarry with other tribes to repopulate after the invasion.
-  *Stonetree Tribe - Southernmost, closest to the hills and mountains.  Their territory includes the Forest of Stone Ghosts, a landscape of petrified trees (and other things).  They are protective of their land and only willing to trade relatively small amounts of petrified wood from broken logs ("stonewood") each year.  Legend tells of the **Great Stone Wyrm Basiliskos// who was defeated by an unnamed hero thousands of years ago __after__ petrifying a couple of small nations that stood here.  The legend is mostly tru, and the Stonetrees make a decent income off scholars and the occasional stupidly rich dabbler who wants to look at the weird but pretty stone trees.  They also have some trade with dwarves coming over (through) the Altun Shan Mountains.
