====Gulden==== A good sized town in [[North-Eastern Asteria]] at the point where the Rivan River feeds into the [[Aster River]]. Guilden is economically more stable the [[Overgard]], though this is tested by an uptick in the river-pirate population. Count Gulden-Sornalns is technically subordinate to Earl Alaric Sorland-Gribbel, but has a lot of contacts, and political friends, outside of Eastern Sors. ===Economy=== Gulden is a trade town: specifically, most of the grain produced in Eastern Sors enters its granaries. While a lot of that grain leaves again on the endless stream of watercraft plying the Aster, the town boasts fifteen prosperous and quite distinct breweries, and a half-dozen distilleries. On top of that, luxury traffic going __towards__ Overgard must pass through the town as well. ===Population=== Gulden is home to roughly twenty thousand people, three quarters of them human, with a fairly eclectic mix of non-humans. Wargs are rare, and Nagas almost unheard of (unless the Fang Empire's ambassador has gotten a hankering for whiskey again), but the odds are good you will find every other sentient race somewhere in Gulden.
