Kala Hatholming was the second born child in one of the major houses of the Storm Elves.  A strong and willful individual from an early age, she chose to seek her own path to greatness rather than squabble with her brother over succession.  That path led to a military career, and eventually her position as one of Prince [[Imrahil]]'s most valued subordinates.

Kala presents a cold, domineering exterior: in fact, she is happiest when everyone is doing exactly what she tells them.  Rumors that she has a Red Sonja complex, and is just awaiting the day when a partner can overwhelm her with their strength, has largely led to a trail of charred corpses.  Kala has taken lovers, and frankly enjoys taking the dominant role with supposedly strong partners.

Kala is a superior tactician, actually better than her superior [[Imrahil]], and a powerful Storm mage in her own right.  Her current assignment serve multiple purposes: it cements the alliance with [[Arasha]], gives her valuable field experience against non-Elven opponents, and provides [[Imrahil]] some peace from the incessant squabbling between Kala and his other top general, Kril.
