Master Kuumaarke, Magus Adeptus of the Storm Dragon School, is a mystery, even after [[kobold_mage|Troels]] lived with him for seven years.  He's clearly far older than he appears, having mentioned events well outside a human's lifespan quite casually, and not of any race Troels has met so far.  He claims that he serves as the protector of the Vale, which is a bit alarming: the spirits of the dragons whose bones litter the place are more than active enough!
