Overview

One of the smaller of the Lakemen Villages (population less than 200), but one of the more prosperous thanks to the Woodhurst road. The inhabitants are a goblin sub-race, looking very much like anthropomorphic schnauzers. Garv himself lived and died about five generations back, and his descendants have been thriving here ever since.

Long ago, probably during the Divine Era, someone used a spectacular level of Earth magic to draw a 20' wide, 150'+ pillar of quartzite out of the living earth, then infused it with Light magic. It's the sort of over-the-top monument building the did back then. No one today knows what the beacon looked like originally, and even the God of Dreams is inconsistent about its portrayal. (He apparently likes it for its symbolism.)

Ichigo is one of those grizzled, veteran samurai you see advising “young lords” in anime and Tokugawa era fiction. Skilled, disciplined, and experienced, he served the daimyo of Toyotomi prefecturate until three years ago, when his master's enemies convinced the emperor that he was a traitor, and had dishonored the Shogunate. Ichigo's master, being too honorable for his own good, told his collected retainers that as his last act…

Overview

The Lake of Dreams is the largest body of water in the Fallow Marches, rivaling Earth's Sea of Azov, the Gulf of Thailand, and Lake Superior in volume. History says that somewhere in the middle of the lake is an island about the size of Maui, home of the Final Holy Site of the God of Dreams. This island has not been verified by any mortal in living history, as the lake is permanently fogbound once one gets more than a league from shore.

Mithril is highly durable, holds an edge well against the most ludicrous stresses, and is as lightweight as aluminum. It is also an epic pain in the arse to work with even if you are a master of the art. Very few pure mithril weapons are known to exist today.

Overview

A quiet viscounty allied with Verdante, with a surprisingly high population for its size: Halvelings do take up less space than humans, after all. Like those of Tolkein's Shire, the citizens tend to be peaceful, if conservative.

Population

Paratalle's populace is well over 95% Halvelings. Nearly all of the rest are relatively short goblin sub-races. This does mean that there are only a handful of structures in the viscounty that can comfortably accommodate

Overview

A vast, trackless grassland near the middle of the north continent. It is bounded to the south by the Altun Shan Mountains, the west by the Asterian Empire and the Atan Hills, to the west by the Great EastFyre Desert and Mongrellia, and to the north by the Starfallen Wastes. The terrain ranges from very flat to gentle hills, with the occasional crevasse. The climate is similar to the US portions of the Great Plains, drifting towards African veldt in the southeast.

Sithskaar is a alloyed metal of dwarven origin with a coloration between that of pewter and antiqued brass. Mostly comprised of lead and copper (with other, closely held, ingredients), sithskaar is heavy, easily shaped, and holds up well in most weather conditions. It is only as hard as copper, so use is limited to decorative purposes. Most importantly, vining plants will not grow across sithskaar, so it is quite common to see it used to clad the bases of statues.

In antiquity, techniques existed to bind a spirit to a specific task, creating a self-powered enchanted item. Until two generations ago, it was not actually the de-facto border of the Asterian Empire, but ended up that way when Goldenrod County was abandoned. It is the seat of power for both

Overview

Xuǎnzé is the youngest of the communities in Blackstone Freeholding, having been founded fifteen years ago when the extended Sheng family emigrated from the Uruk Mandarinate. It is the only community to have an entirely brick (dwarfpour) wall, and no hints of Elven architecture within.

Yam Fiend: a low-level monster that resembles a sprouting root vegetable with a angry face. It is not entirely clear where yam fiends come from, but they can be found in most temperate regions, and will aggro any person or domestic animal they encounter. Their leaves are a useful component in basic Cure potions.

Ymps

Ymps are a goblin race averaging between four and five feet in height, with light blue skin, red to brown toned hair, short pointed horns high on their foreheads, long thin tails, and splayed three-toed digigrade feet. While visually Ymps would appear to be analogous to D&D Tieflings, they do not have any demonic heritage. Most are native to desert regions, and are known for their resilience in harsh conditions, and their steadfootedness in rough terrain.

Zeoreimer: Originally, a suit of Yamato Ō-yoroi armor that was possessed by multiple spirits of the owner's victims whose individual wills were insufficient to rise as a Revenant. The zeoreimer then goes off to try to kill the culprit, their family and clan, and then loses focus and just murders anyone it encounters. Today the phenomenon has spread throughout the civilized world.

Name: Zelda Zecour

Race: Half-Elf (Drowe parentage)

Age: 67

Residence: Newhaven

Zelda was born from the union of a Dark Elf adventurer and a Hazad human herbalist; she has many pleasant memories of her mother, and refused to discus her sire. She had a reasonably uneventful career as an assistant shopkeeper in one of the southern Caliphate cities, where she gained the respect and friendship of the Blackstone Company.
