Altan-Shan Mountains

One of the great mountain ranges bordering the Uruk Mandarinate, extending from the Gap of Han nearly to the Western Ocean. This range shares a genesis similar to that of Earth's Himalayas, having been forged in the Crystal Era when the northern and southern continents collided, and bounced. The mountains are known for their breathtaking beauty, suicidal heights, a wealth of metamorphic mineral deposits, multiple Dwarf-holds, and three verified Lesser Dragons.

Locations of Note

  • Mount Lookithat: The tallest mountain in the range visible from the Asterian Empire. It has had many other, more impressive names over the centuries, but the common folk keep reverting to Lookithat. To date no mortal has reached the peak, which is visibly above the upper snow line.
  • Mount Shi: Lookithat's counterpart on the Mandarinate side of things, near the Gate of Han. The Uruks claim an epic hero did reach the peak once, back in the eighth century, employing advanced warding techniques, an Air Mouth, a Flame Mouth, and a half dozen other top-tier artifacts. In theory, most of his kit is preserved in the Emperor's treasury.
