Death
First and foremost, this is a relatively lighthearted fantasy campaign, with a lot of exotic plot elements floating around. Death is not always the end. Adventurers in particular seem to have tourist visas with the frequency they wander back and forth across that line.
Basic Resurrection
For the first short while after a person's demise, until the next major solstice or equinox, secular healers, necromancers, and many priestly traditions, are capable of putting the soul back into the body… assuming you've done something about what caused the problem in the first place. Apparently that is the normal backlog for Judgement, or at least when the divine servitors process a batch of souls into the afterlives. If the soul in question is still present in the physical world (sentient undead) or spiritplane (ghosts), then this grace period is extended.
Advanced Resurrection
After that, it requires fairly advanced holy intervention, or high end adept level necromancy to call up a spirit from Redemption, reconstitute their body, and welcome them back to the land of the living. There are a number of legendary artifacts that are also capable of this feat. Getting ahold of one of those is never easy. Souls that have been sent to Salvation rarely consent to this treatment, save for rather epic situations, and raising a Damned soul almost always involves contending with demonic and devilish intermediaries, gatekeepers, and debt collectors. This has become a lot less common since the extinction of the Elven House Belial, and the fall of the Dakan nation.
Ghosts
far too often, an unfortunate death leads to the creation of a ghost: a dead spirit whose ties to the mortal plane are too strong to allow them to move on to Judgement. They can't really do anything concrete about their situation, just perform a small collection of haunting tropes until they attract the attention of someone who can intereact with them and assist with their issues.
Undead
Skeletons and zombies aren't people, just physical forms fueled by necromantic energies or curses, and driven by advanced scripting. Some can become people, angbors for example, but normally they just wear out and fade away. Ghouls, wights, wraiths, vampires, and so forth, their souls are present, and eventually will be Judged
