Name: Svall Svallson
Race: Human
Age: 67
Residence: Woodsdrop
Svall Svallson, the Black Flint, , chief of Woodsdrop, the Genius of Aldus, first consort to the Sultana of Kazim. Svall was born on the isle of Aldus, and left during one of those intermittent invasions by Granblue. He joined up with Erlich, Lavinia, and Thorbrand about three years into their adventures, and stood by them ever since. Svall is “comfortably charming”, and apparently had more flings than the entire rest of the Blackstone Company put together.
Svall as an adventurer was a master slinger and rune-master. His stock and trade was to imbue his sling stones with power, and deliver them at high speed at whatever the problem was today. No one mocks his “ox brand” rounds more than once, particularly not late in his career when he knocked in the gates of the fortress city of Kazim with a single stone! He also can engrave sigils of power into armor, structures, and (on the accursed trip to Aard) the bodies of his friends.
Today Svall is the village elder of Woodsdrop, living a pleasant life with his wife, four of his seven children, and close to twenty grandchildren. Freyane in particular shows talent for her grandfather's arts.
- The Sling of Maggott: Maggott was the name of the Halveling who crafted the thing. This simple leather and yarn herdsman's weapon provides the wielder with uncanny accuracy, the ability to perceive the body heat of his enemies, absurd range, and a whistle in the grip that once per day will Terrify all enemies who hear it.
- Sundering-Rod: An adamantite alloy two-handed war pick. An impressive enchanted weapon, it has two on-demand abilities. First it can anchor itself immovably in the ground until commanded to release, and second, it attracts all ranged magic that passes within thirty feet of it. Svall usually planted it somewhere to the side of his position in a fight.
- Bracelets of Kazim: Gifts from the Sultana after the city was liberated. Enchanted jewelry intended to keep the crown princess aware of threats around her, and “untouchable by assassin's blade or arrow”. Only functions if one is not wearing proper armor.
- Chisel of the Stone Father: a jeweler's chisel that cuts through stone with the same proficiency as a stylus through wet clay. He can cut his way out of a prison cell with it, but it is faster to start carving runes in the wall.
