 In her youth, before she married, Chen served as a dancer and guard in a holy temple, and mastered a flashy, if effective, form of Kung Fu.  her husband, [[Dao]], did not survive the journey.  He sent the family on ahead an used his magic skills to stop a sizable bandit group that was pursuing them.  To this day, the Kring nomads refer to their new circular lake as "[[Dao's Last Stand]]".
