Ashlands

The general term for the region between the Pillar of Luminar and Gloamingdale Wraith. The area gets its name because of two factors. First, due to geography and Elven interference, it is generally downwind of Thrall’s Gate Hall. Secondmost, there is a collective belief, growing stronger the further north you go, that only natural (ash-gray Eastwalls) stone construction will keep out the horrors of the Dells.

This has led to highly durable, Balkan style architecture, despite the fact that the local lords haven’t taken military action against one another in centuries. They tend to restrict their feuding to duels and political maneuvering.

Locations of Note

  • Brightgate: hub of Count Bright’s territory, this town located on the road between the Pillar and Witchfel, less than a mile from the Camwood’s edge.
  • CastleStein: Fortified Asterian town twenty miles south of Thrall's Gate. Large adventurer/mercenary population, as there are all sorts of exciting problems to be faced in the Eastwalls nearby.
  • Greywall: Baronial town on the low road west out of Witchfel.
  • Ravenstein:
  • WulfenCroft: The northernmost of Asterian cities, and vertically the densest. Located on the Corrin-Thrall's Gate road, this moodily Gothic community's expansion was limited by the population's unwillingness to modify the outer walls, so they built up… and down.
