Echad-Lum
Overview
Echad-Lum is a medium sized village in the Blackstone Freeholding. It is located ~6 miles northwest of NewHaven, and seven miles north of Woodsdrop. Residents include eight full time families, and a semi-permanent population of thirty or so trappers and hunters.
Despite a deliberate, if unconcious, choice among the residents to keep the village “rustic” and “frontier” in natures, the fact that nearly all the buildings within the palisade are repurposed from the nearly intact Elven complex that once stood here. It is speculated that this was once a low-ranking noble's hunting lodge, or perhaps a vacation complex for patrons of the Spire of Mirabell.
The economy of Echad-Lum is almost entirely dependent on the bounty of the Camwood surrounding the village. Hunting, trapping, and herb-gathering are respected professions. The full-time residents support this effort, providing housing, supplies, equipment repair, and a professional bowyer.
Locations of Note
- Grandpear's Basement: A centuries-old pear tree growing atop a small Elven ruin of two rooms and a small spring. It was left alone because it served as a superb den for medium to large predators, making them easy to find if necessary. Now that Divine Era ruins have been found beneath the Elven ones, this is likely to change.
